He then attended USC’s School of Cinema-Television, where he studied under instructors including Ivan Passer, Frank Pierson, and Franklin Daniel. His graduate work was screened at a number of national festivals, including the San Francisco Independent Film Festival and the New York Asian-American Film Festival.
His screenplays have also received notice in a number of national competitions and fellowships, including placements in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Screenplay competition and Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab. His most recent project, the television pilot “Urban Defender,” written with co-creator Will Griffin, placed in the Semifinalist round of the Screencraft television competition and is currently a finalist in Stage 32’s Diversity Fellowship.

Our dear friend Fred passed away this year. His casting director and producer career spanned more than 50 years from "The Godfather" to this year's "Megalopolis." He will be sorely missed.
